Happy (late) New Year!

Fas-Track is still not accepting new customers, but we continue to take care of the ones we have! If things continue to improve, we may consider expanding by one server this coming summer 2010. Look forward to more updates around spring.

Dear Fas-Track customers:

First off I would like to thank all Fas-Track customers who have remained with us during this restructuring process and all former customers for your many years of business. I know the past few months have been a challenge for all of us with all the uncertainty of our future. For those who may not know what our future is going to be like, I would like to briefly re-cap what has been going on the past few months.

Fas-Track announced that the effects of the economy has finally caught up with us. As more and more people try to tighten their wallets, they look for free email and webhosting services, or give up their page all together and one after one, they cancel the their accounts with the company they know and trust. Our customers were more than just an account number, you were part of the Fas-Track family. We know the web hosting industry is very saturated and without you we would never have grown from a single server company in 2002, to 6 servers without sacrificing our customer service, and our customer relationships. Not bad for a 4 man operation! Thank you for choosing us and letting us make it happen!

However, as I was saying. The economy has caught up with us. We are considering consolidating some accounts to other servers. We will keep you all informed via direct email and also in our trouble ticket system. At this time, we are not in danger of closing. Please stand by for an update within the next few weeks. Your servers will all remain up and running to provide you with the same level of dependability and service that you have come to expect from us! I promise you this.

Friday, August 28, 2009:

I announced today that Fas-Track would no longer be accepting new accounts, and that we will be consolidating ALL servers. Our current servers are, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and Jupiter. The Fas-Track commitment has been to never over crowd any server, and I am trying to the best of my ability to keep that commitment by consolidating all accounts onto our newest and more powerful Saturn and Neptune Servers with very minimal down time, if any at all. These servers will be going down for maintenance to prep for the move on Sunday, August 30. For your convenience, we have scheduled the site move at the same time the DB server will be down for an upgrade.

Please refrain from making any important changes to your website over the next few days, as these changes may not be included in the most recent backup. We will give you 5 Business days notice before we move the websites over.

Best of all. You do not have to do A SINGLE THING expect refrain from updating your website for the next few days! We are doing all the work in the wee hours of the night (EST)

The Saturn and Neptune servers will be the only remaining servers that we will offer. Both server's have a 640gb RAID hard drive setup to protect all client data in case of main drive failure (basically means, auto backups!). Saturn and Neptune also sport 6Gb of DDR2 ram, and a 3.0 Intel Dual Core processor. These 2 servers are night and day compared to the older Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and Jupiter servers which did not have RAID, only 1gb of ram, 2.0 Pentium 4 and 250gb hard drives. The Pluto server will remain as a MySQL data base server however, we have scheduled this server to go down for an upgrade to handle some anticipated increase in load. We are installing RAID and doubling the ram to 8gb! Please refer to your email for more details on when and at what time this maintenance will take place. If you did not receive and email, please log into your control panel and open a ticket. We will soon be posting that email on the welcome page of our support ticket system for you to read.

It may seem like we are spending a lot of money to purchase 2 new servers and upgrade our database server, but when it comes down to the monthly numbers, we will be saving quite a bit of money per month to put back into Fas-Track Networks. We have NO plans of going anywhere!  Thank you all again for sticking with us during this process.

Saturday, September 05, 2009:

Servers are scheduled to go down for this major move on Sunday, September 13. This will last into the late morning hours of Monday the 14th. We are going to do everything in our power to keep your site up during this time. I stress again, please refrain from updating your website from Saturday, September 12th, until at least Friday, September 18. Thank You!

Saturday, September 12, 2009:

Please be reminded that all servers may be running slow while we transfer data to the new servers. You should have now received an email as to which server you will be on and the password for your control panel is also now for all applications. Please change these as soon as you log on.

Sunday, September 13, 2009:

I am writing just to give you all a quick update as to the status of the move. So far we have Mercury and Venus moved over to Saturn. Pluto is back online and is running as fast as ever.  So far things are going as planed. Stay tuned!!

Its about 5am Sunday night, um morning.. Actually it's Monday now! And I am pleased to announce that ALL sites have been transferred successfully and you may upload to your new IP address. Please give it a few days before you upload to your domain.com. Changes may not be seen right away while the new server IP's propagate around the internet which can take a few days.
